Australia Day Celebrations Airlie Beach
Festivities include jumping castle, face painting, cricket, games, live music, gold coin donation sausage sizzle followed by the Official Ceremony including trophy & Australia Day Awards presentation and Australian Citizenship Ceremony.
The Australia Day Awards represent an opportunity for a range of community members and groups to be recognised for their passion and dedication to the community. We are fortunate to have people in our communities who inspire us and who show us that we can all make a contribution to creating a better Australia and a better region. Whether it is a young person enriching our community through cultural or sporting activities, a community event run by the locals for the benefit of the whole region or one of the many dedicated volunteers, there a many reasons why people are worthy of an Australia Day Award.
The final step in the journey to become an Australian citizen, for most people, is to make the Australian Citizenship Pledge at an Australian citizenship ceremony. Citizenship ceremonies form a very important part of Australia Day and we look forward to welcoming new citizens on Australia Day in 2013.
